About the Course
This activity would familiarize participants with the basic ideas behind permaculture in a fun and interactive way, with brainstorming, games, and discussions.
INDOOR - 1H30
• Short introduction to permaculture as systems thinking and design. This would familiarize participants with the basic ideas behind permaculture in a fun and interactive way, with brainstorming, games, and discussions.
• The 12 permaculture principles, and their applications in social systems, and how they can be applied not only to a land-based system, but also to community building, business, and financial systems..
• How to apply “no waste” closed loop design to urban living. This is a practical interactive exercise to assess energy use in the workplace, including both human and physical resources.
OUTDOOR - 30min
• “Urban Safari” to practice observation and to increase awareness of the natural
elements within our urban systems. To close, we will venture outdoors to familiarize ourselves with the interaction between nature and the human elements in an urban environment, with a focus on simple ways that we can support the natural world, and how we can draw support from this contact as well.
